Tom Roberts


1856-1931
Tom Roberts was a famous painter and photographer. He was born on the 8th of March 1856 at Dorset, England. He moved to Victoria in 1869.
He started as a photographer and was encouraged to start painting by a French Teacher at his design school. Tom Robert’s work showed great promise and at school he was awarded a prize for one of his artworks.

Bailed Up is creating the early days of New South Wales in the bushranging era.

Sidney Nolan

The Australian artist Sidney Nolan who was born in Melbourne in 1917. In his series of works exploring the Ned Kelly saga he has produced some of the most iconic images in Australian art. Sidney Nolan is arguably the most important non-indigenous artist to have come from Australia. He died in 1992.

Mt Fuji

Mount Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan at 3,776 m (12,388 ft)
Along with Mount Tate and Mount Haku, it is one of Japan's "Three Holy Mountains"


An active stratovolcano that last erupted in 1707–08, Mount Fuji is just west of Tokyo, and can be seen from there on a clear day.

Mount Fuji's exceptionally symmetrical cone is a well-known symbol of Japan and it is frequently depicted in art and photographs, as well as visited by sightseers and climbers.
